What I learned.

Film:

The film was very helpful to me. Throughout the whole project we focused on just one topic, our own segment. Once we put together the whole film, I learned about other things like effects on our generations, what is global warming, causes of global warming, and what I can do to prevent It.

Subject:

Global warming, everytime I hear that word now I think about it. Back before this project, global warming would get brought up and I wouldnt really pay attention, and I really didnt know what it was. Once I am an adult, I myself will look to by a Hybrid car. The project as educated me on Global Warming.

Research:

Research was not all that hard of a task to do, but it was very educating. Doing the research, made you really think about the subject and exactly what it was and exactly what you were going to do with it, which made you pay more attention to what you were doing.

Writing:

People have always said that writing things makes you learn it quicker and easier. After doing this project, I would have to agree with that. During the project there was alot of writing. We had to do alot of writing with our blogs, writing down interview questions, and then doing our video.

Blogging:

Like I said in my paper, blogging helped us alot, but I think the work was unnecessary. Blogging was just a whole different  job to do. Not only that, but it put alot more work and stress on our backs. But overall, I think it greatly helped us.

Organizing:

Between the blogs and the videos, our segments had to be very organized. I think this project helped everyone with all of their organizing skills.

Working With Others:

Working with others was a very important part of our project. There was alot of work that needed to be done and alot of information that was begging to be researched, and no one person could have ever done it by themselves. So throughout this project, we learned how to work together.

Article 13 - McCain’s plan for Global warming?

Reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions

Mr.McCain states that he plans to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 60% by mid-century. He also plans to take a lead in making world powers India and China to reduce their carbon emissions as well. New York Times gives Mr.McCain credit for his plan,  but it says that Mr.McCain is sometimes critisized for not doing enough.

Article 12 - Polar Bears Endangered?

Melting Ice caps

The Interior Department on wednesday stated that Polar Bears are being threaten with extinction, because of melting ice caps, caused by global warming. The Endangered Species Act requires the angency to identify and form stratigies for critical habitats for the polar bears help in repopulation.  The Polar Bear is the first listed species under extinction because of Global Warming. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne stated that he was taking small legal steps like blocking carbon dioxide and other gasses that contribute to global warming.

Final interview Questions

-Coppied from Jason Wahidi

What is your opinion on the effects of global warming?

From your perspective, what issues or effects (i.e., environmental, political, economic, cultural, social) do you feel are the most important? Why?

What do you feel the Local Government can do? U.S. government?

Do you think Global Warming is a serious issue that the world needs to think about?

How do you personally feel global warming should be dealt with (if they believe it is a serious climate crisis)?

Have you made any changes to your home (solar panels, light bulbs, cars) to reduce your carbon emissions?

Do you know what the average carbon emission is for a regular person? How about yourself?

http://www.carboncounter.org

Do you plan to change your ways in order to reduce your total carbon emissions?

Interview Reflection

I think the interviews went great on friday. Me, chris and jason successfully handed out all 6 interview video release forms. We intrerviewed 6 people, all of which helped out our segment. A couple of the people, I tend to think, had a few screws loose in their head (if you know what i mean) and just gave random answers that didnt really make since.  A couple of them acted like they didnt really wanna do it (even though they filled out the blue release slip). Two of the interviews went very well though, the people gave detailed answers and it seemed like they had an idea what they were talking about. Giving factual information, I would put them as the main ideas in our segment.

Documentary and Segment Thesis

Segment Thesis:

Due to the different severe climate changes, the effects of Global Warming could become a serious issue in the world today.

Documentary Thesis:

Global Warming is becoming a serious issue in todays world because of the major random climate changes.

Reflection of the project!

I think that this project was a good project to study because before we started, I never really thought about Global Warming and never really thought about preventing it. This project has opened my eyes about Global Warming, I realize now how bad it really is and how big of a threat it poses on the earth. As I drive down the highway now and see a Hybrid car, I smile. As I drive down the road, and see a factory letting alot of smoke out of the building… I think, GLOBAL WARMING, and yell it lol. I have really learned alot by doing this project, and I think it is a great project that everyone should do.

Article 11 - Just deal with it?

WOW

Roger A. Pielke, Jr states that it would be cheaper to adapt to Global Warming rather than fight it. He thinks that fighting Global Warming will be much more difficult than adapting to it. Basically, Mr.Pielke is saying that its not the humans that are causing Global Warming. His opinion is the exact opposite of mine (nick moore). I say we fight Global Warming and stop it from happening, he argues the exact opposite.

Reflection - Wow this guy really needs to think about what he is talking about. Yeah lets adapt to Global Warming, Lets adapt to constant Tornado’s and Hurricanes, Lets adapt to 120 degree whether. Lets adapt to constant thunderstorms. I agree that it would cost less money to adapt, but I also think it would cost more lives, which is a bigger toll than losing money.

Article 10 - Clinton and Obama’s plans.

The Outlooks of the Senetors

Both Barac Obama and Hillary Clinton believe in Global Warming and believe that it is a major issue in today’s society. Both Obama and Clinton believes that it poses a major threat on the world. They both believe that its not too late to escape the worst affects of Global warming.

Article 9 - EPA gets sued by several different states.

18 states

The states are trying to sue the EPA because they are trying to make it comply with the Supreme Court that Rebuked the George Bush Administration for not acting on Global Warming. According to a petition filed Wednesday April 2nd, 2008, the plantifs said the 5-4 ruling required the Environmental Protection Agency to decide whether to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide, from motor vehicles. The EPA did not do so, resolving in the states suing. We do not know the outcome of the case because it is happening at the moment.
